Here is a look at the history of Petro-Gamers from when the site orginally started as Empire-At-War.com in June of 2005.
- 20/05/2005: Early design and testing for the basic layout of a future CNCNZ.com network site based on Empire at War began.
- 30/05/2005: Basics of the site's layout and structure was completed. Started to think of possible names. Empire at War site project was then put on hold for a few weeks.
- 22/06/2005: Officialy registered the domain name "empire-at-war.com". Site was then named "Empire-At-War.com".
- 30/06/2005: Empire-At-War.com was official launched.
- 30/06/2006: Empire-At-War.com celebrates its first full year online. In our first year we recorded almost 110,000 unique hits, with our recording setting day of 4979 unique visitors on January 19th 2006, the day the Empire at War demo was released. We logged over 60,000 downloads of various files like mods, patches and utilities from the site as well.
- 16/07/2006: Empire-At-War.com evolves into a Petroglyph fansite. It's given a new domain name, petro-gamers.com, and a new name, Petro-Gamers.com.
- 13/12/2006: Petro-Gamers.com gets its first major layout change with a new colour scheme.
- 30/06/2007: Petro-Gamers.com is officially renamed, dropping the .com and simply shortened to Petro-Gamers.
